Why I Don't Congratulate Same-Sex Relationships

Article Posted on Clear Truth Media

I have seen a number of esteemed colleagues express their congratulations, like, heart, comment, photograph, post photographs of, or attend same sex unions.  I have seen the same for birth announcements of children born to  same sex couples.  I have seen the same happen as people "come out" announcing that they are gay, trans, etc... on social media.

I DO NOT CONGRATULATE THESE MOMENTS. I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD EITHER.

I am going to talk about it because failure for us to engage this cleanly and clearly will result in the same outcomes churches have had when they avoided preaching on Biblical sexuality for fear of offending people. These churches have allowed pop-culture to use their rising generations as human shields for the advancement of unBiblical sexuali ideologies.

Subsequently, our children and people are left to their own devices to figure it out for themselves while being indoctrinated 24/7 by the iPhones, social media, teachers, government, Disney, peers, and the cultural mash around them.  Brothers and sisters, that hasn't turned out well. so....

WHY I DON'T CONGRATULATE SAME SEX RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Same sex relationships are unbiblical.  Why would you celebrate or congratulate something that is unbiblical?

2. You duplicate what you celebrate.   Want more same sex activity in your relational sphere? Celebrate it.

3. It is a violation of 1 Corinthians 5:11, "that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin."

4. It is confusing to other Christians.  When we celebrate or high five people because of some big life decision out of a desire to be a friend, we send a terrible and confusing message to those watching.  Their interpretation, and rightly so, is that you are not unpleased by their behavior or decision.

5. It removes an important opportunity to call people to repentance.  How will they be saved without repenting?  Who will be their preacher?

6. You're high-fiving one of Satan's victorious moments. Stop celebrating the victory of the enemy of your soul.  There is nothing to celebrate.  This is something to mourn.

Please, brothers and sisters, stop this behavior.  It is incongruent with Biblical Christianity.  It is an affirmation of an unBiblical sexual ethic that carries people captive.

Don't celebrate.   Instead, weep.

Don't help them try on wedding outfits.   Instead, implore them to resist the devil.

Don't be a party to the destruction. Instead, go into your prayer closet.

Plenty of people in this culture will rally up to celebrate.  Instead, stand in the gate as the wolf comes for the sheep declaring that any sheep dragged off will do so over the uplifted voice of a weeping praying prophet, pastor, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, or friend.

There is a time to celebrate. There is a time to fight. There is a time to lament.

Know your time. Know your place.
